Kirkwood Christmas

We celebrated Christmas in Woodbury with Grandma and Grandpa K, Auntie Kristin, Uncle Eric, and Cousin Teddy December 23-25th.  Our celebration was filled with traditions that I used to do every Christmas growing up, including pizza picnic, Christmas jammies, Christmas story, and Carols.  It is fun that now my kids anticipate the same traditions each year as we pile into Grandma and Grandpa's house for Christmas!  We all arrived at Grandma and Grandpa's house on Friday evening in time for the traditional "pizza picnic" by the tree that I used to do each Christmas Eve growing up!

After cookies, the kids opened two gifts from Grandma and Grandpa - one of them included Christmas Jammies :).

After everyone was jammied, Grandpa read the Christmas story by the fire.

After the kids were in bed, we adults enjoyed chatting and catching up.  The following morning we awoke for breakfast, carols, and presents!

I got lots of snuggles in with this cutie!

Per tradition, each person picks a Christmas carol to sing before we can open presents.  Grandpa accompanies on the piano.
This year, Summer brought her music so she could accompany the family on Jingle Bells.

I didn't get many pictures of them opening presents, but some favorites included Colton's Paw Patroller Truck, Summer's battery powered "real" kitty, and Larkyn's vacuum cleaner.  They also look forward to their dates with Grandma and Grandpa - Summer to see the play "Cinderella" and Colton to see "Night Trains".   Grandma also got the kids placemats and the girls leggings that say their names!

Grandma and Grandpa made a delicious roast and yummy dessert for Christmas dinner.

Since the day we celebrated Christmas morning was actually Christmas Eve, that evening after naps we went to Christmas Eve Service at church.  A highlight is always the candlelit carols.

We adults enjoyed a game of Dominos that evening.  The next morning we went sledding!

What a fun Christmas Weekend! Thank you so much Grandma and Grandpa for hosting us all, cooking us food, blessing us with such thoughtful and generous gifts, and most importantly for the fun shared family time.  We love you!
