4 Year Anniversary!

June 16th marked our 4 year anniversary (8 years since we met!)   I won't get too mushy, but I will say that I love and appreciate and respect my amazing hubby more and more every day, he is my BEST friend,  I am so thankful for him, and I couldn't be ANY happier!

On Thursday, my parents came and babysat Summer so Paul and I could go on an anniversary date.  We went to Annie's Parlor for Cheeseburgers and Shakes, and then walked around to some memorable spots around the city.  We had a perfect evening!

Father's Day Craft

What could be more fun 7 babies painting special gifts for their daddies?!?!?!  Not much!!!!  Summer invited her 6 baby friends over last Wednesday for craft day!  We got a bunch of terracota flower pots at Michaels, and some paints.  Our mission was to get baby hand and footprints on the pots to give to their daddies for Father's Day.

We set up our unfinished basement with big sheets of paper as a drop cloth, and filled up the wash tub in the laundry area with hot soapy water for rinsing off painted babies!  You'll also see the swimming pool filled with toys (no water) in the picture, where the babies played after they were done painting.  We had soooooo much fun, and the crafts turned out pretty cute too.

On the Move

Summer is LOVING her new ability to crawl!  She gets such an excited look on her face when she can choose where she is going to go, and get there on her own!  It sure is cute when she comes to find me....fun when she chooses to comes to me out of her own decision and then smiles up at me!  Must be how God feels when we come to him on our own accord....

Crawling sure has changed some things!  She has definitely hit her head more!  Diaper changes are now quite interesting, as she immediately wants to flip onto her tummy and start crawling.  We can't tuck her in at night any more, as she will immediately flip onto her tummy to peer over her crib and watch us walk out of the room.  What a difference a few months makes!

Paul and I can't help but smile when we see her in her little diaper crawling around the room right before bedtime, so I thought I would share a few videos from tonight with you.  Enjoy!  (In these videos we are playing the "go get the phone" game.)

Summer LOVES to feel everything with her feet.  She still loves to walk while holding our hands, and she will stop and "stomp" her foot to "feel" all sorts of textures...grass, sand, rock, carpet, floor, a toy, a shoe, Tucker :)...anything!  It is hard to video that, because I am holding her hands while she does this, but here is a little video of her feeling the wall with her feet tonight!

I often text Paul pictures of Summer during the day while he is at work.  Here are a few from the past few weeks....along with a few photos of our family visit to the zoo next to Summer's favorite: the goats!

Lovin' running with mommy!

Marathon

Last Sunday I got to do one of the items on my bucket list....run a marathon!  26.2 miles....I had so much fun!  It was an absolutely gorgeous day and I had the best fans in the world!  Paul ran around and cheered me on from quite a few different points, and both sets of parents were there too, complete with hot pink and hot green poster signs for my sister-in-law Sarah and me.  I was a little nervous because I gashed my foot on a lawn tool 3 days prior to the marathon, but prayer worked and I didn't feel it at all as I was running--yay!

Here is a link to my final finishing stats, and then below are some pictures and video from the day.

We put timing chips on our shoes that timed from when we crossed the start line to when we crossed the finish line.

There were over 4000 people running---some did the half marathon and some did the full, but we all started together.  This video shows a small portion as we all started the race.

A few snippets of me running...

On this snippet you see people running both ways...we had to do a few mini out and backs along the course because of some flooding on the original course.  That meant that we could see our fans a few times, which was fun!

Drinking and running....lets just say only part of the water got in my mouth!  But with an 80 degree day, it was important to stay hydrated.

A very tired me....the finish line was now in sight!

My goal....to finish running!

Here is a link to my finishing video from the marathon site.

I made it!

My biggest fan!

Not sure if she was more excited about her mommy's race.,...or the string cheese she found in mommy's bag!
