Picnic!

Today we spent the whole morning/lunch/afternoon outside!  It is gorgeous and ALL the snow is GONE!  woohoo!  Summer and I played outside with our neighbor friends Faith and Noelle while Colton napped.  Then we went for nice long run, played at a park, and had a picnic lunch.  What a fun day with my kiddos!

Just finished our run...ready to play!

Auntie Kristin's Wedding

I am absolutely ecstatic that my sister and Eric got married this weekend!  The day was perfect, the bride was perfect, everything was perfect!  Paul's parents were incredible, too.  They stayed with the kiddos all weekend, got Colton down for his naps, ran flower girl Summer home from the rehearsal for bed, to her hair appointment, to the wedding for pictures, and sat with them through the wedding and dinner keeping them both happy and quiet!  Paul and I were both in the bridal party and were so busy all weekend that we couldn't have done it without them.  Thank you, Grandma and Grandpa T!  I stole some snap shot pictures from various people, but am excited to see the pictures the photographer took!

We started the weekend visiting my dad's side of the family on Friday who came into town for the wedding.

First nice day this spring in MN to walk outside barefoot...but still a few patches of snow!

Then that evening Colton stayed with Grandma and Grandpa T while Summer, Mommy, and Daddy went to the rehearsal.

On Saturday, Paul and I left before the kids were up.  The bridesmaids went to the salon together and Paul had breakfast with the groomsmen and dads.  Grandma took Summer to get her hair done too!

Waiting for Daddy

Daddy usually gets home around 6:30, so our typical evening routine is to start dinner preps around 5:30.  If you have ever tried to cook with two kids under 3, who usually want to be held, etc, you know that it is not the easiest task in the world! A few weeks ago we unintentionally started a "new" routine that works so well, for so many reasons, I wonder why I never did it before!

I have never wanted the kids to snack before dinner, because I want them to eat a good nutritious dinner.  However one way to keep kiddos occupied, in the kitchen, while I cook is to give them something to eat!  So, I have taken to giving the kids their dinner "veggies" before dinner, and they are allowed to eat as many as they want!  Summer thinks it is pretty special to sit on the stool in our kitchen and watch for Daddy while she eats her veggies.  Colton gets his high chair moved to where the action is, and can munch on his veggies and drink his milk, freeing up my hands to cut, wash, cook, etc.

I love that Summer now "requests" to have a veggie snack every time we start dinner preps!  She eats WAY more veggies now than she ever did....and I actually do too!

I snapped some pictures of the kids today, just to remember this stage of life. :)

Celery = much more exciting in this venue ;)

Yay carrots!

No more pictures, please, mom!

Hurry home, Daddy!

April Videos

I've taken some videos over the past few weeks....but never posted them!  Here are a few clips rolled into one to share with you a bit of what we have been up to and what the kids are learning....

Happy 3rd Birthday Adry!

Adry is the oldest of Summer's friends, and thus is the first to turn THREE!  Wow!  Adry's parents hosted a super fun party at Edinborough Park's Adventure Peak, an indoor climbing playground!  It was the first time we had ever been there, and both kids loved it!  I was climbing around with the kiddos, so I didn't get any pictures of them playing, but here are a few of them enjoying the pizza and cake :)

So many wonderful friends!

Adry did a great job blowing out her candles all by herself!
We love you and your family so much Adry!  You have such a sweet happy spirit and we are so thankful to have you as friends.  Have a happy 3rd birthday, Adry!!

This morning we had Colton's 1 year Dr. Appointment.  Colton of course did not enjoy being examined, getting shots and blood draw, or even getting weighed, but thankfully both kids loved reading the books Dr. Parkos had in her examining room as we were there for over an hour and a half!
