Tommerdahl Christmas

Last weekend we celebrated Christmas in Fergus Falls with Grandma and Grandpa T, Javonte, Uncle Jordan and Auntie Madison, Uncle Ty and Auntie Sarah, and GeeGee Sandy.

Flannel Christmas :)
Due to some crazy predicted weather, we drove up a day early on Thursday night instead of Friday night.  Unfortunately, Summer's long awaited and anticipated first grade gingerbread house day was that Friday (along with her favorite school lunch, Italian Dunkers) so both Paul and I tried to think of creative ways to get us to Fergus without making her miss such a fun day at school.  In the end, safety won out, as driving in the predicted blizzard conditions the following day did not seem safe, especially when temperatures were so cold.  Summer was very mature and we were both proud of her attitude when we told her she would need to miss the 1st grade festivities, and Grandma and Grandpa T were so thoughtful and sweet, making Italian Dunkers for lunch on Friday as well as getting a "Frozen" gingerbread castle for the kids to decorate.

The kids love going to Grandma and Grandpa's, and had a blast playing all day Friday!  On Saturday, we celebrated Christmas!

I love this picture!  The floor was covered with presents!  It may look like chaos, yet each person took turns (youngest to oldest) opening one gift so everyone could see what everyone opened :)

And, of course, lots of hugs!
 Then came naps and playing!

Summer and Larkyn got a giant Barbie house and other cool Barbie stuff!

Colton was thrilled about his Paw Patrol tower and did an amazing job building his first set of "big kid" legos almost entirely by himself!

All three kids got Paw Patrol shoes...
...and  Paw Patrol shirts!

Love this pic of big sis and little sis feet!

A highlight of the weekend for us adults was playing a version of cherades after the kids went to bed.  We all laughed so hard we almost cried!  We are so grateful for such wonderful family that loves and cares for each other so much, and despite a sick Larkyn (we always have at least someone sick at Christmas, right?!) and temps as low as -28 degrees Fahrenheit outside, we had the perfect weekend staying warm inside and making memories!
