Minnesota Family Council Dinner

Last night my parents hosted a table at the Minnesota Family Council fundraising dinner and invited Paul and I to join them.  The highlight was definitely hearing their keynote speaker, Ben Carson, speak.  Amazing story.  His mom, one of 24 kids, married at 13, and after an early divorce, raised Ben and his brother in poverty.  He has overcome SO much and ended up the youngest neurosurgeon to be the head of the department at John Hopkins University and the first doctor to successfully separate conjoined twins at the head.  He is incredibly smart in all fields, is a very engaging speaker, and has amazing values and hopes for our country.  He is considering running for president in 2016, and I truly hope he does!

As a mommy, I don't get all dressed up very often, but this evening I shed the mommy shoes for a few hours, donned some heels, and enjoyed an evening out!  My friend Rachel was so sweet as to lend me a nice dress that I could wear being 30 weeks pregnant, and the kiddos had a great time with their babysitter Miss Sidney (one of my former youth group girls).
