Happy 4th Birthday, Summer!

Yesterday, Summer turned FOUR!  We talked, prepared, baked, planned, made lists, and started talking about this day LITERALLY months ago!  Summer was so excited!!

The morning started with breakfast in bed....

Summer planned her menu ;) and requested Lucky Charms, chocolate chip muffins, strawberries, blueberries, razzberries, and orange juice

I loved the family time while Summer ate...

Colton bounced (literally) all over the room playing with the balloons and making us all laugh!

Larkyn was wide awake taking it all in!

Here is a video of her getting "woken up" with breakfast in bed...(She was already awake singing in her bed!)  As you can see from the video, with Colton's version of getting ready to enter her room there is no way she could still be asleep, lol!)

Summer dancing in her "Birthday Princess" Sash

Video: Summer showing the decorations (Paul spent quite a while the previous night getting the streamers just right for his little girl!)

Off to church, where Summer got many sweet birthday wishes!

At Perkins...Summer's choice for lunch after church.  She picked silver dollar pancakes and bacon.

Perkins lunch!

Love this pic of Daddy and Colton coloring waiting for the food at Perkins

While Colton napped, Mommy and Summer had a date to the theatre!  We went to see Bye Bye Birdie at a local high school.

Then we stopped at Cub Foods to pick out Summer's dessert choice...birthday donuts!

Meanwhile, Daddy, Colton, and Larkyn started making Summer's birthday dinner - her choice - Macaroni and Cheese, French Fries, berries, and cucumbers.

Summer was very excited to open presents!  She was blessed with fun crafts and clothes from my Aunt Nancy and Uncle Paul

She got a special book of stories from her great grandparents that was a family favorite for my dad was he was little.

GeeGee Obermayer gave Summer a bag full of markers, crayons, and paints for our little artist.

From Mommy and Daddy she got books to tell Disney's Frozen story, as well as characters to act out the story.

She was most excited about the Disney Princess sheets, which she has been asking for!
We girls read a few of Summer's new books while Colton played with the balloons :)

Time for birthday dessert!

Goodnight sweet Summer!  All tucked in in her new princess sheets!

Happy 4th Birthday, Summer!

A note from Mommy:

I have really truly enjoyed this past year with you, Summer...it just keeps getting better!  You have grown up SO much this past year, from being a little girl who needed lots of timeouts and correction, to a little lady who makes right choices because the Holy Spirit lives inside you and guides your paths (WHAT an answer to prayer!).  Your heart truly feels sad when you do wrong and you only need your wrongdoing to be gently pointed out for you to genuinely repent (often with tears) and change your ways.  I love seeing this fruit of your relationship with God.  I love listening to you pray, I love hearing what you are thinking and attempting to answer all your questions :).  I love watching you play pretend.  I love watching you play with your brother and creating scenarios for you two to play together (although I sometimes have to remind you not to be bossy!).  I love your outgoing nature that will say hi to anyone and start up a conversation.  You are well-known at church among adults and kids alike, as you, our little social butterfly, make the rounds after service each week to say hi to all your friends of all ages.  You are also well known for your beads, as you decorates each outfit with MUCH jewelry :).  You truly do have a flair for style and I am excited for future shopping dates where you can help me stay stylish as I get old, lol! ;).   I love our conversations together and I absolutely could not be more proud of the person you are becoming.  I thank the Lord for giving you to me, and for growing you in His ways.  My prayer for you, Miss Summer Tenleigh, as you enter your 4th year, is that you would continue to grow in knowledge of Christ and in your relationship with him.  I pray that you would continue to love his Word, and keep your passion for sharing the Gospel with others.  I pray that you would continue to grow in your empathy and kindness for others and that you will use your natural leadership to love all people and make them feel included.  I pray that as you continue to grow in knowledge you would always remain humble and always give glory to God, for HE is the one who made you beautiful inside and out :).

A note from Daddy:

Happy Birthday, Summer! It is truly so much fun being your daddy! You light up my day with your smile and keep me on my toes with your intellect and curiosity. You are such a good big sister and a great helper for Mommy when I'm at work. But most importantly, I love that heart of yours and the way you love Jesus! It has been a fun four years and I look forward to what is to come (but can you stop growing up so quickly?). I love you, Summer Tenleigh!

A note from Colton:

While Colton can't write yet, Colton truly loves you, Summer, and wants to be JUST like you!  He copies you - saying everything you say and doing everything you do!  He thinks you are the greatest!

A note from Larkyn:
While Larkyn can't write yet, Larkyn must feel very loved by all your cuddles and snuggles.  You know how to make her stop crying and you love to watch and hold her.  In the one month that Larkyn has known you, you have been the absolute best big sister to her!

Happy 4th Birthday, Summer!  We all love you and our family would not be the same without you!

Love, Mommy, Daddy, Colton, and Larkyn
