Family Vacation

As I mentioned in the last post, we took a family vacation to my parents cabin in Shell Lake, WI.  We had so much fun being together for a whole week, swimming, playing in the sand, boating, fishing, playing board games and lawn games, and playing with Summer and Tucker.  Here are a few pictures.

Paul spotted a juvenile bald eagle on the yard.  It was MASSIVE!
This is a small tree next to him for size comparison.

Summer enjoyed playing with Grandma's toys.

Mommy thought she might be able to put Summer's first ponytail in her hair....

After trying and trying....

the combination of a wiggly baby and very fine baby hair made the task a little too challenging!  (In the next post, however, you will see a successful ponytail!)

Tucker enjoyed being with the family and relaxing
The life!
While Summer plays, she has many interesting faces she makes!  Paul was able to document a few of the many in the following pictures....

The "deer in the headlights" face

The "I'm not so sure about this" face

The "I am so interested in that right now" face

The "zoning" face

The "my tongue is so cool" face

The "determined" face

The "oh really" face
The "snuggle" face

The "what is that?" face

The "wow that is so incredibly awesome" face

The "I'm just happy to be alive" face

The "curious" face

The "pondering" face

The "I'm not sure" face

The "I'm on top of the world" face

The "I'm getting tired" face

The "smile at the camera" face

The "go-get-em" face

While at the cabin, daddy gave Summer her first Oreo.  She loved it!

Fishing

My parents came up the last few days we were at the cabin. It was fun to see them, and that also meant that we could go waterskiing.  (Need a boat driver and a spotter before you can ski, and we only had the two of us)  Here are a few pictures.
Ready to waterski

Up on two skis

Dropped one ski
The lake was like glass....so fun for waterskiing!

Paul skiing

Paul wizzing outside the wake
Me trying to get up on one ski....despite many attempts, I never did it, soo...

I got up on two again, and dropped one. :)

So, I decided to try to pick my top three Summer faces. So hard to decide. Love 'em all. The "that is incredibly awesome" face looks particularly like pictures I've seen of Paul at that age. Anyway, such precious pictures of your time at the cabin. We are so glad you had a great time and we loved sharing the last couple of days with you all.
