All three kids got to pick an activity/camp for our "camp" week. Summer picked a theater camp, which met at the Minneapolis Children's Theater from 9-4, and taught her acting and dancing skills using portions of the Newsies musical. It was a fantastic experience. Due to covid, the camp directors sent clips from their days on an app called Flip Grid. I don't have any pictures to share, but I will say that I was quite impressed with how much they learned in one week! Colton picked a morning camp, Aeronautics, where he got to fly drones, learn about flight, and make different kinds of flying objects. He also did an afternoon camp, Archery, where he learned a lot and improved his aim. Larkyn picked a horse camp in Rosemount, which met from 10-3, where she got to ride horses (her horse's name was Dreamer), do crafts, learn how to saddle horses, pick their shoes, pick up poop, and more! Here are a few pictures....

Kids Camps
Since I don't have any pictures of Summer at her theater camp, I'll just include a few fun ones of her - one is on one of our girls nights, the other is when she and Larkyn were babysitting a friends' two little girls.
July Extended Family Fun
Three of our July weekends were spent enjoying time with extended family! We spent a weekend at the Kirkwood cabin, along with Grandma and Grandpa K, Auntie Kristin, Uncle Eric, Teddy and Charlie. We spent another weekend in Chicago for a family reunion on my mom's side, celebrating my Grandma's 94th birthday. We spent a third weekend enjoying time with Grandma and Grandpa T (and their dogs!). We had planned to go camping at Father Hennepin for three nights and go biking and swimming, but due to poor air quality from all the forest fires, we decided upon plan B, hanging out at our house in Apple Valley. Here are a collection of pictures from these weekends....
Cabin
We enjoyed lots of cousin/family time, celebrated Uncle Eric's birthday, enjoyed the jet ski Uncle Eric rented, all three kids skied, fished off the dock, played at the beach, ate great food, and made lots of great memories!
Obermayer Family Reunion
It was especially fun to get everyone together for our family reunion after not seeing everyone now for two years (due to COVID). We enjoyed lots of fun activities together including a water park, bowling, axe throwing, celebrating my Grandma's birthday, and connecting with family we love!
Camping Plan B: Apple Valley :)
While we were all disappointed not to be able to go camping, we ended up having a lot of fun with our plan B! We went to the zoo, did lots of Geocaching, mountain biking, neighborhood biking, celebrated Summer's birthday (more pictures of Summer's birthday celebration in a future post!) with a pinata, had bubble gum blowing contests and lessons, and ate lots of great food!

Grandma and Grandpa Camp
I don't say it lightly when I say we are BEYOND BLESSED to have not one set, but TWO sets of grandparents that WANT to take our kiddos for overnight Grandma and Grandpa camp. In fact, when our original plans to travel to Israel fell through 9 days before our departure date (due to the border remaining closed because of COVID), we probably would have just cancelled the trip altogether if it weren't for the grandparents who were already excited to have our kids and unwilling to give up their special time with them - we are grateful :). Grandma and Grandpa K took the kids for the first week of our trip, and did special things with them at their cabin in Wisconsin, and then met for lunch to do a hand-off to Grandma and Grandpa T who invited the kids to stay with them at their trailer on a lake in northern MN for the second week of our trip. To say that the kids had a blast would be quite the understatement! The LOVED it and were spoiled silly :-).
We love you and are so grateful for you, Grandma and Grandpa K and Grandma and Grandpa T!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!
Week 1 - Grandma and Grandpa K Camp
Grandma and Grandpa K camp was filled with all sorts of fun including a tour of Crystal Cave, picking strawberries and making preserves, making birdhouses to keep at the cabin, touring a local zoo, swimming, tubing, eating favorite foods, making dinner over the fire, and playing with cousins! Not to mention, July 1st, Larkyn's 7th birthday, fell in this week, so we were very grateful that Grandma and Grandpa K made it really special! They filled her day with special decorations, special foods, go karting, mini golf, and even a lumberjack show! In no particular order, here are some of the pictures Grandma K texted us while we were gone :). Thank you Grandma and Grandpa K for making unforgettable memories with our kids and loving on them in such a huge way!
Week 2- Grandma and Grandpa T Camp
Grandma Grandpa Camp handoff occurred at a Culvers somewhere between the two camps :). Then the kids began Grandma Grandpa Camp "part 2" with Grandma and Grandpa T! They loved playing with the special toys Grandma has at the trailer, going tubing, playing at the sandbar, loving on the dogs, going geocaching, going biking, playing on the giant lily pad in the lake, playing with "cousin" Kopel, doing a giant puzzle, going go-karting/water boating, making t-shirts, going fishing, and more! Furthermore, Larkyn got a birthday party, where they decorated the trailer, invited Kopel and GeeGee Sandy to celebrate, had a piƱata, and had an Elsa and Anna DQ cake! Larkyn sure had the most amazing 7th birthday!!!! In no particular order, here are some of the pictures Grandma and Grandpa T sent us while we were on our trip. Thank you so much Grandma and Grandpa T, for loving on our kiddos so much and making such fantastic memories with them!
