As usual, we do birthdays big in the Tommerdahl house. Daddy's birthday is no exception :). Daddy's birthday celebration started on Mother's Day with DQ cake from his parents, and extended all the way to his actual birthday, May 23rd.
The Saturday before his birthday, we the kids helped with the traditional breakfast in bed and "decorate with streamers". They went a little overboard and ended up making a fun ninja laser obstacle course out of streamers in the upstairs hallway ;).
On Saturday evening, Paul and I went out for a birthday date of mini golfing, dinner, and Twins game. (Thank you Grandma and Grandpa K for babysitting!)
On Sunday afternoon after church, we celebrated as a family by going to the MN Loons soccer game. A huge highlight for the kids was when Summer gave her homemade sign to her favorite player (Bobby Shuttleworth, goalie) and he gave her his game worn jersey and autographed it. Colton also got quite a few autographs on his Loons hat that GeeGee Obermayer gave him for Christmas.
On Paul's actual birthday (Wednesday), Larkyn and I went downtown on the light rail to have lunch with Daddy!
Daddy picked up his favorite pizza on the way home and we ended the night with mint chip brownies and ice cream, along with lots of thoughtful presents and cards from the kids.
